Who we are

The Fultz Group is an advisory firm based in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Owner Shift is the audience-facing brand. Steve and Melissa Fultz are the principals. When you see "we" or "us" on this page, that is who we mean.

Use of this site

You are welcome to read everything here, take any of the free tools, subscribe to the Fultz Factor, book a discovery call, and enroll in a cohort. You agree not to scrape the site, abuse the forms, or attempt to break things. The free PDF of the book is for your personal use; please do not redistribute it.

Free tools and the Readiness Check

The free diagnostics (Readiness Check, Ownerless Drill, Calendar Test, Decision Log, Exit Without Chaos, Trust Transfer, SOP Sprint) are decision-support tools. They are not professional advice. Treat the results as a useful starting point for a real conversation, not as a recommendation to act or not act on a specific business decision.

Discovery calls

The discovery call is free, 30 to 45 minutes, and a diagnosis rather than a pitch. We may recommend the cohort, recommend a different resource, or recommend nothing at all. There is no obligation either direction.

Cohort enrollment (Obsolete By Design)

The flagship cohort is six weeks, capped at 20 couples, taught live by Steve and Melissa.

  • Pricing. $995 per couple paid in full, or two payments of $525 ($1,050 total; the $55 difference covers payment processing on the second installment). Both spouses are included at that one price.
  • Refunds. We do not offer refunds. This is intentional, not a gotcha. We would rather have committed couples than hedging ones. If you are unsure, take a discovery call first.
  • What is included. Six live weekly modules, weekly office hours, the Owner's Almanac template, access to the private Skool community, direct email and Loom access to Steve and Melissa during the cohort, and the R.E.S.T. method materials.
  • Schedule changes. If we have to reschedule a session, we will notify you with as much notice as possible and offer a recording. If we have to reschedule the entire cohort start date, you may move to the following cohort at no charge.
  • Removal. We reserve the right to remove participants who are abusive to the group or to the team. Refunds in those cases are at our discretion.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card information. Charges appear on your statement as the merchant name configured in our Stripe account. Currency is US dollars. Sales tax, if applicable to your jurisdiction, is your responsibility.

Intellectual property

The Owner Shift, Obsolete By Design, the R.E.S.T. Method, the Owner's Almanac, the Marriage Board Meeting, and the Fultz Factor are trademarks of The Fultz Group. Cohort materials, templates, and the book are copyrighted. You are welcome to use what we teach in your own business. You are not welcome to repackage and sell our materials as your own.

What we do not promise

We do not promise specific business outcomes. We do not promise that doing the cohort will increase your revenue, sell your business, save your marriage, or change your life. We have seen all of those things happen. We have also seen owners go through the cohort and not change their behavior. The work is the work, and the results are yours to create.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by Tennessee law, The Fultz Group, its principals, and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site, the tools, or the cohort. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the prior 12 months.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Knox County, Tennessee.

Changes

If we change these terms, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Substantial changes will get a note in the Fultz Factor.
